Acne steroid treatment involves the use of corticosteroids to treat inflammatory acne. These medications work by reducing inflammation and swelling, which can help improve the appearance of acne. Topical corticosteroids are often used for mild to moderate acne, while oral corticosteroids are typically reserved for severe cases of acne. Kenalog may also be injected as an in office procedure for persistent flares of cystic acne.

Dermaplaning is an effective exfoliating treatment in which a surgical scalpel is used to gently scrape off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. When dead skin cells and microscopic hairs build up on the face, it can make your skin appear dull and contribute  breakouts. This exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even and healthy glow.

Skin care evaluations are offered with or without hormone and wellness lab testing. Patient’s that select to have lab work performed are scheduled for a 45 minute consultation to review lifestyle, nutrition, and laboratory results to help identify the root cause of your skin concerns.  Treatment options for improving skin health can range from improving nutrition, gut health, hormone balancing , or prescribing oral or topical medications.

Medical-grade chemical peels are a cosmetic procedure that involves applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove the outer layer of damaged skin, revealing smoother and more youthful-looking skin underneath. These peels are performed in the office and are stronger than over-the-counter peels. Medical-grade chemical peels are used to treat a range of skin conditions, including acne, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, and sun damage. The procedure can also improve the appearance of scarring, pigmentation irregularities, and rough skin texture. After a chemical peel, patients can expect some redness, peeling, and flaking of the skin. It’s important to avoid direct sunlight and wear sunscreen to protect the newly exposed skin. Patients can expect recovery time to last from 7-10 days.   At CHS we perform VI Peels by the Vitality Institute. The Vitality Institute offers six uniquely formulated VI Peel treatments designed to lift pigment, remove sun damage, alleviate acne and scarring, and fight fine lines and wrinkles. All our painless medium-depth VI Peels are safe for all skin types and tones with results in as little as 7 days! Our favorite is the Precision Plus. Check it out here.
